The International Coalition for Children With Incarcerated Parents (INCCIP) published the World Total Global Statistics about Children with Imprisoned Parents in 9 Region (Africa, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, Middle East, North, Central and South America, Oceania.
The World Total Global Statistics make an estimate of the world prison population, which is around 11 million people.
This means around 22,5 million children all over the world have one or both parents in prison.
In Europe, the figures show that the total imprisoned population is 1.496.000, which means that children with an imprisoned parent are approximately 2,7 million.
